About Us
AI-Ihsan Social Development Center is established In 2004 as a non-profit organisation with approval from Bureau of NGO Affairs and Ministry of Social Welfare of Bangladesh to help the destitute and orphan girls and widows of flood prone area of Bangladesh. The Center is currently taking care of 350 non-resident destitute girls, and 65 resident orphans and widows. The Center offers them Islamic Studies with mandatory Quran memorization, Academic studies from Pre-K to Grade 10, and Vocational; training in different trades. The particular area served is a remote villege of Bangladesh which is flooded by the nearby Padma River each monsoon season. Homes of hundreds of thousands of families are destroying each year because of this flood erosion. These families dislocate each year and takes shelter to nearest villages whose are also flooded during the monsoon season that lasts up to 4 to 5 months. This circumstance causes to break many families and leave many destitute children, orphans and widows.
Who we are
Aims and Objectives of Al-Ihsan Girls’ School
- Working towards alleviating literacy in the locality. Also to provide education for old people, child development, helping the poor and distressed and taking necessary steps towards social development programs.
- Boarding facility for the orphan students.
- To arrange scholarship, awards and certificates for the students studying in education institutes. Helping the poor students with food, cloth and shelter
- To increase awareness against child marriage, usury, child & female abuse, drug addiction in the society.
- Encourage tree plantation to make a green environment
- Increasing awareness for using sanitary latrine and personal hygiene (sanitary napkin) of village women. Distributing sanitary latrine among the poor and distressed people.
- Distributing free education materials among the poor students
- Ensuring education for all. For this motto, arranging official female and old education activities
Gradual Development of the School
The school was started in 2004 with some part-time adult students. Gradually the number of beneficiaries and number of classes increased in the last 13 years. In Year 2008, there were total 57 school students upto Grade 3. And now in Year-2021 we have 366 beneficiaries from Pre-KG upto Grade-8.

As there are many places in Bangladesh where safe water is not available. Al-Ihsan arranged to install deep tube well in many places of nearby villages
